Great Britain will no longer automatically follow US foreign policy

In a very comprehensive document available to the public from 2nd May, the British House of Lords issued a very important policy document that essentials say Britain should no longer be 'wedded' to America when it come to policy over the Middle East and North Africa.
In classic British style, on the the face of it, it's an understated document which if read carefully reveals a huge shift since 1945 vis-a-vis the end of British unwaveringly support for American Foreign Policy in MENA and who knows where else.
The Lords document is entitled "Transformation of power in the Middle East and implications for UK policy".
Chairman of the Committee, Lord Howell of Guildford, said: "The Middle East has changed and UK policy in the region must respond to that....We can no longer assume America will set the tone for the West’s relationship with the Middle East and the UK must give serious thought to how our own approach will need to change."
The Lords International Relations Committee report published on May 2 calls for a major re-shaping of UK policy in the Middle East. One notable priority of the report says the government should support the Iran nuclear deal and seriously consider recognising Palestine as a state.
