Arab Swimming Federation elects Al Kashari as board chairman

Muscat: Arab Swimming Federation (ASF), general meeting has elected Taha bin Sulaiman Al Kashari as chairman for the ASF Board for the coming four year – board term.
The general meeting was held , yesterday, at Oman Sheraton Hotel with the participation of chairpersons and representatives of 17 national swimming associations of Oman, UAE, Algeria, Iraq, Kuwait, Jordan, Djibouti, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Sudan, Yemen, Tunisia, KSA, Qatar, Egypt and Palestine.
The chairman and vices to chairman of the Board of ASF won by acclamation for the Board Term 2017-2021. The deputies to chairman are Ali Yakhlaf (Algeria), Ibrahim Nadah (Jordan) and Humaid Al Gharib (Kuwait). The general meeting elected five members to the Board who are Abdullah Al Wahaibi from UAE (14 votes), Sarmad Abdulellah from Iraq (13 votes), Mohammed Haroon from Egypt (13 votes ), Khalid Al Khalifi from Yemen (13votes) and Rasheed Abu Zaid from Morocco (10 votes ) who won in the second round of elections after having equal votes of 10 of Essam Al Qazin (from Libya). This is in addition to two members who are Fawaz Zaloum (chairman of Palestine’s swimming association who joins directly without the need for election) besides the membership of the women sports committee in the ASF Board, bringing the Board members to seven.—ONA
