Muscat: The United Kingdom of Britain has removed the Sultanate from the red list, as there is no need for Omanis going there to quarantine.
A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA) said: "The United Kingdom has amended the travel rules for coronavirus and raised a number of countries to the yellow list, including the Sultanate, Turkey and Egypt, starting next Wednesday.”
The United Kingdom has renewed the red, yellow and green list for entry into England, according to the official website of the United Kingdom.
The new list revealed that the Sultanate will be removed from the red list and placed in the yellow list at 4am UK time on Wednesday, 22 September 2021.
The official website of the United Kingdom indicated that travellers from countries on the yellow list before entering England must do the following:
1- Coronavirus test three days before travel
2- Reservation and payment for a coronavirus examination after arriving in England
3- Fill out the arriving form
The United Kingdom clarified that the above steps must be taken whether the person is fully vaccinated or not vaccinated.
For vaccinated people, after arriving in England, a coronavirus test must be done on or before the second day.
For people who are not vaccinated or vaccinated with a single dose, they must quarantine at home or the place where they live, and do a coronavirus test on or before the second day.
The website also called on those wishing to enter the Kingdom before the name of the Sultanate was removed from the red list to yellow to conduct a coronavirus examination 3 days before travel, and book a hotel for quarantine with two coronavirus examinations and to fill out the form upon arrival.
It is worth noting that the Sultanate was placed in the red list on the dawn of Friday, March 19, 2021.
