New programme sanctioned to help Omani job aspirants

Muscat: The Ministry of Labour signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Outward Bound Oman to develop and refine skills of Omani youth.

The cooperation between the ministry and the organisation aims to groom reliable leaders of the future to press ahead in realising Oman Vision 2040.

The MoU focused on helping Omani youth to be more confident and effective as they unleash their abilities through programmes and initiatives that are characterised by the spirit of challenge and adventure.

According to the MoU, Outward Bound Oman is set to provide training programmes that develop all life skills of participants in the Eitimad or (Accreditation) programme.

Those skills range from planning, decision-making, and essentials of leadership to the strategies of thinking, problem solving, creativity, group work and communication, among other skills.

Outward Bound Oman is an organisation that is supervised by the Ministry of Social Development. It has so far trained over 16,000 participants from a spectrum of backgrounds from the Sultanate and abroad.

The MoU was signed by Sayyid Salim Musallam Al Busaidi, Human Resources Development Undersecretary and Mark Evans, CEO of Outward Bound Oman.
