Muscat: Dar Al Atta’a Association celebrated on September 6 the graduation of 11 students under the ‘Tamkeen’ training programme (assistant health personnel and dressers) at Towell Knowledge Institute.
Eleven jobseekers attended the programme from within the families of the association and having limited sources of income who have not earlier got training opportunities.
The training was for six months and included training in English language, computer, theoretical and practical training in dressing.
The programme aimed to train them as bandagers. It also provided proper work environment, communication skills, time management, work ethics, health and safety and the international certificate on computer and internet (IC 3) besides the main modules of the programme.
At the graduation ceremony, Siham bint Yousef Al Kharousi, Director of Empowerment Department, said: “We are pleased for being the contributors in providing the health sector with qualified and ambitious youth. The six-month programme enabled eight trainees to secure employment contracts. We are proud of this achievement and hopeful for sustainable contribution for the interest of the society.”
She also expressed her thanks and appreciation to Al Habib Co. for financing the programme and to Towell Knowledge Institute for assisting the trainees in securing job opportunities.
Khulood Al Balushi, one of the graduates of the programme, on behalf of her colleagues, expressed utmost appreciation and thanks to Dar Al Atta’a Association for the continued support it has accorded to the society.
“We have received training in an encouraging and motivating environment,” she said, adding that the programme was comprehensive and contributed to development of our skills.
Tamkeen is one of the main programmes of Dar Al Atta’a Association, aimed to make qualitative shift in the lives of the needy families and to the support of the projects of families requiring support. The programme also aimed to provide long term training to individuals.
