Muscat: The MSX index closed at 3,960.10 points, down 0.28 per cent from previous close.
The Sharia Index ended down by 0.31 per cent at 588.36 points. Aman Real Estate, up 4.17 per cent, was the top gainer while Al Jazeera Services, down 2.51 per cent, was the top loser.
Shares of Taageer Finance was the most active in terms of number of shares traded while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 613 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating turnover of OMR3.5 million, with more than 24.7 million shares changing hands.
Out of 43 traded securities, 8 advanced, 15 declined and 20 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR190,000 while Domestic investors were net buyers for OMR124,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR65,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,297 points, down 0.46 per cent. Price of Madina Takaful was the only gainer by 0.95 per cent. Bank Nizwa, United Finance, Ominvest, Al Sharqia Investment and National Life Insurance were down 2.06 per cent, 1.67 per cent, 1.26 per cent, 0.99 per cent and 0.54 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 6,012.11 points, up 0.02 per cent. Prices of National Aluminum Product and Al Maha Ceramics were up 4.05 per cent and 0.82 per cent respectively. Al Anwar Ceramics was the only loser by 1.33 per cent.
Services Index was down by 0.21 per cent before closing at 1,712.13 points. Dhofar Generating, Oman Investment & Financials and Omantel were up 2.38 per cent, 1.39 per cent and 1.06 per cent respectively. Al Jazeera Services, Sembcorp Salalah, Musandam Power, Oman National Engineering and Renaissance Services were down 2.51 per cent, 2.17 per cent, 1.20 per cent, 1.03 per cent and 0.91 per cent respectively.
