Muscat: The MSX index closed at 3,971.66 points, down 0.06 per cent from the previous close.
The Sharia Index ended up by 0.26 per cent at 589.83 points.
Oman National Engineering, up 4.35 per cent, was the top gainer while Oman Investment & Financials, down 2.11 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of Oman National Engineering was the most active in terms of the number of shares traded while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 353 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR1.14 million, with more than 6.35 million shares changing hands. Out of 38 traded securities, 8 advanced, 6 declined and 24 remained unchanged.
At the session close, domestic investors were net sellers for OMR200,000 while foreign investors were net buyers for OMR126,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR74,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,330 points, up 0.04 per cent. Prices of Vision Insurance, Madina Takaful and Bank Muscat were up 2.50 per cent, 0.96 per cent and 0.45 per cent respectively. Muscat Finance and Al Anwar Investment were down 1.59 per cent and 0.85 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 5,983.61 points, up 0.38 per cent. Prices of Al Maha Ceramics, Jazeera Steel Product and Oman Flour Mills were up 1.67 per cent, 0.52 per cent and 0.50 per cent respectively. Galfar Engineering was the only loser by 1.27 per cent.
Services Index was down by 0.12 per cent before closing at 1,717.26 points. Oman National Engineering and Sharqiyah Desalination were up 4.35 per cent and 1.72 per cent respectively. Oman Investment & Financials, Ooredoo and Omantel were down 2.11 per cent, 1.04 per cent and 0.53 per cent respectively.
