Oman Sports: Al Muheet Institute ropes in Omani expert to launch sports training programmes

Muscat: Al Muheet Training Institute, one of Oman’s leading training institutions that specialises in providing training in education and business sectors, has roped in an Omani sports expert to launch sports training programmes with the ultimate aim of contributing to the growth of sports in the Sultanate.
The institute has signed an agreement with experienced Omani sports lecturer and administrator Hisham bin Salim Al Adwani to develop training programmes for the benefit of various sports bodies in the country.
The cooperation agreement was sealed at the InterContinental Muscat with Hisham Al Adwani, who also currently serves as the vice-chairman of Oman Basketball Association (OBA), and Al Muheet Training Institute’s Manager Huwaishil Humaid Hamed Al Shuely putting ink to the paper on Wednesday.
As per the one-year agreement, Hisham Al Adwani will held the Institute to design and provide training programmes in sports management for the benefit of various sports bodies in the country.
The Institute saw the need for this new initiative as many organisations concerned with sports affairs are facing tremendous challenges which reflected on the performance of such organisations both technically and professionally which in turns has direct bearing on the quality of local sports activities.
With the involvement of Hisham Al Adwani, who is passionate about serving the sports sector in Oman by providing the best training services with his aquired knowledge or by procuring the best experts from local and international organisations, the Institute is hoping to design and provide the best sports training progammes in sports and associated sciences, and to become one of the major sports training institutions in the GCC countries.
The Institute is hoping their programmes will benefit various ministries, sports associations and committees, sports clubs and institutional sports bodies.
The Institute and Al Adwani are at the moment planning a vast range of sports training programmes including subjects like Olympic movement, sports management, sports organisations management, resource management in sports organisations, sports event management, general principles of development of elite athletes and sports marketing.
There will also be programmes on sports law, sports media, sports technical management, sports science, technology in sport, sports psychology, sports physiology and sports biology.
