MSX index ends marginally higher

MSX index ends marginally higher

Muscat: The MSX index closed at 3,965.94 points, up 0.09 per cent from previous close. The Sharia Index ended down by 0.37 per cent at 593.53 points.

National Aluminium Products, up 8.26 per cent, was the top gainer while Al Kamil Power, down 8.18 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of OIFC was the most active in terms of number of shares traded while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover.

A total number of 807 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating turnover of OMR2.84 million, with more than 18.47 million shares changing hands. Out of 49 traded securities, 22 advanced, 9 declined and 18 remained unchanged. At the session close, local investors were net sellers for OMR112,000 while foreign investors were net buyers for OMR88,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR24,000 worth of shares.

Financial Index closed at 6,304.68 points, up 0.05 per cent. Prices of Oman & Emirates Investment, Global Financial Investments, Vision Insurance, Oman Qatar Insurance, and Muscat Finance were up by 7.25 per cent, 3.03 per cent, 2.56 per cent, 1.95 per cent, and 1.64 per cent respectively. Prices of Al Madina Investments, Bank Nizwa, Taageer Finance, and National Life & General Insurance were down by 4.76 per cent, 2.02 per cent, 1.21 per cent, and 0.53 per cent respectively.

Industrial Index closed at 5,955.58 points, up 0.53 per cent. Prices of National Aluminium, Raysut Cement, Construction Materials, Galfar Engineering, and Al Anwar Ceramics were up by 8.26 per cent, 3.44 per cent, 3.23 per cent, 2.56 per cent, and 1.34 per cent respectively. Prices of Voltamp Energy, Oman Fisheries, and Oman Flour Mills were down by 4.44 per cent, 3.75 per cent, and 0.50 per cent respectively.

Services Index was up by 0.48 per cent before closing at 1,711.00 points. Prices of National Gas, Renaissance Services, OIFC, Oman National Engineering, and Al Jazeera Services were up by 2.94 per cent, 1.79 per cent, 1.61 per cent, 1.10 per cent, and 1.01 per cent respectively. Prices of Al Kamil Power, and Oman Telecom were down by 8.18 per cent and 0.52 per cent respectively.
