Oman lashed by heavy rain

Muscat: Heavy to moderate rain has started falling over Muscat governorate, according to Oman’s Meteorology department.

On Sunday, Oman meteorology department predicted heavy rain starting from today for four days.
An official at the Oman’s meteorology department said that heavy to moderate rain was recorded in parts of Mabela, Barka, Musannah on Tuesday morning.

“We are expecting rain in Muscat governorate, South Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta and Dhofar governorate,” the official added. Rain also fell in Muscat itself, around the Ruwi area.

The Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) has urged citizens and residents to stay away from low-lying areas and overflowing wadis.
The rains brought down temperatures all over Oman.
“Roads are flooded. Wadis are overflowing," Bader Ali Al Baddaei, an administrator of www.rthmc.net, a local Web-based forum that discusses weather in Oman, said.
