Muscat: Oman and United Arab Emirates (UAE) have discussed ways to facilitate the transit of travellers between the two countries.
"Khalifa Hamad Al Shamsi, Director of Land Ports Department at the General Authority for Security of Ports, Borders and Free Zones in the country, and Lt Colonel Saeed bin Saleh Al Siyabi, Director of Customs of Buraimi Police in the Sultanate of Oman, discussed issues of common interest and ways to facilitate the smooth flow of commercial traffic and the transit of travellers between land ports of the UAE and Oman," Emirates News Agency said in a statement.
The meeting, which was attended by a several directors of the operational authorities in the land ports in Al Ain region on Wednesday, reviewed the joint coordination mechanism between the Emirati and Omani sides and the process of facilitating transit, in light of the pandemic.
