Muscat: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister has welcomed the appointment of Swedish Ambassador to Yemen, Hans Grundberg as the UN Special Envoy to Yemen by United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in succession to Martin Griffiths.
He also expressed the Sultanate’s aspiration for working with him in such important dossier along with the Sultanate’s determination to continue with the efforts aimed at providing solution to the crisis in Yemen at the earliest.
Sayyid Badr also valued the experience of Hans Grundberg, the UN Special Envoy to Yemen and his knowledge with the affairs of Yemen and the region.
Sayyd Badr also hoped that the professional experience of the new UN Special Envoy to Yemen will contribute to the efforts extended to ensure comprehensive and permanent ceasefire by all parties and to ease the flow of humanitarian aid and involvement in a political process that would achieve aspirations of the Yemeni people towards security, stability, national unity and reconstruction.
