Muscat: More than 300,000 students aged 12 and above are targeted in the National Immunisation Campaign in all governorates of Oman.

Dr. Lamia Al Balushi, Director of Diseases Surveillance and Control Department at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in Muscat Governorate, said that 320,000 students from public and private schools are targeted in the immunisation against COVID-19 campaign among school students in the age group 12 years and above, including approximately 90,000 students in the Governorate of Muscat.

"The campaign has seen a great turnout since morning, which is expected to last three weeks. The aim is to make sure all students are vaccinated before the start of the next academic year," added Dr. Lamia Al Balushi.

The Director stressed the need for the targets to meet the 12-year age on the day of immunisation, calling on students with respiratory diseases or those who had come in contact with COVID-19 infected individuals to reschedule their appointments.
