Second workshop for Dhamani platform to be organised today

Muscat: The Capital Market Authority (CMA) will organise on Monday the second introductory workshop for the health insurance system in Oman 'Dhamani Electronic Platform' which is expected to be launched in September this year.

The workshop will host a number of representatives of private health care institutions and information technology firms.

The platform will link between the regulators and supervisors in the Sultanate including the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Labour, Royal Oman Police and the providers of insurance and health services to exchange data and information related to health insurance services.

The participants will be acquainted with the platform and its role in health insurance transactions and the key requirements, terms and conditions for electronic link between the platform and the providers of health and insurance services as well as displaying the programmes  of the platform beside investment opportunities.

CMA had earlier organised the first workshop for third party administrators (TPAs).
Liyotha Abdullah Al Harthy,  Health Insurance Manager at Oman United Insurance Company who participated in the first workshop said, “The workshop was distinguished and provided insight on the electronic link of the health insurance scheme and we learned how it works and how to benefit  from it as insurance companies beside training the employees on how to use the system when launched."

Mortadha Al Ajmi, General Manager of Oman Insurance Company, a participant in the workshop expressed admiration of the platform. He said, “Creation of Dhamani Platform is a key factor to ensure the quality of the health insurance in Oman which comes in line with the Oman Vision 2040 and the platform added new concept for standardised health insurance and treatment measures of the health system in the Sultanate."

Dhamani Platform project will be implemented in three phases, the first phase is the electronic link for exchange of data and information, the second is the exchange of medical referral data electronically and the third is the operation of the platform.
