Oil spill in Sohar Port under control

Muscat: ‏The Environment Authority, in cooperation with the authorities concerned, is making an effort to treat the oil spill in Sohar Port, as it was able to contain it and control the source of the leak.

The authority said: "The Environment Authority, Sohar Port Company, OQ Company and the Coast Guard Police, in cooperation with the companies operating in the port, continue to deal with the oil spill incident, as the spill was successfully contained, treated and its source controlled."

"The cleaning work is also continuing with the concerted efforts of the companies operating in the port, emphasising that there are no signs of any direct impact on the surrounding environment," the authority added.
