Muscat: The Royal Army of Oman continue to help people deal with the repercussions of the air depression affecting some regions of the Sultanate.
The Ministry of Defence said: "The 23rd Infantry Brigade, represented by the Coastal Security Force of the Royal Army of Oman, continues to provide support to some villages of the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate after they were exposed to the air depression, such as providing drinking water tanks and removing waste from roads closed by torrential torrents, as well as transportation service of families and residents to safe areas.
Regarding the impact of the water service in the Governorate of South Al Sharqiah, the Oman Water and Wastewater Services Company said in a notification: "We would like to warn that the water supply in the Wilayat of Sur has been suspended as a result of a break in the main pipe supplying the main reservoir that feeds the wilayat network due to its impact on the flow of the valley."
"The fracture site was determined using modern technologies (drones), and the technical teams began the repair process, which may take 48 hours. Water tanker filling points have been opened around the clock in both Al Falaj and Al Bar, and tanker owners can supply water from these points.”
The company added, "Coordination is underway with the concerned authorities of the Sub-Committee for Emergency Management in South Al Sharqiyah to provide water through tanks to cover the shortage. We also ask our valued subscribers to rationalise water consumption."
