Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has said that it is preparing to implement new timings of movement ban from Friday.
Starting from July 16, the ROP said that the movement ban will start from 5pm and will continue till 4am. The ROP also said that it will implement full lockdown on the first three days of Eid Al Adha (July 20 to 22).
The Royal Oman Police (ROP) also thanked the citizens and residents for their adherence to the decisions of the Supreme Committee to deal with COVID-19 and their contribution to the commitment to preventive measures in the decline of the epidemic and the decrease in the number of people infected with the virus, and also wishes everyone to spend the best times with their families during the blessed Eid Al Adha period.
The Royal Oman Police has also confirmed its readiness to implement the necessary measures for the safety of society, through police presence in all governorates and wilayats of the Sultanate that will implement the decisions of the Supreme Committee, in addition to maintaining security, and spreading peace and tranquillity.
In order to ensure the availability of basic services and to facilitate the emergency movement of people, the accident centre at the Royal Oman Police will operate during the period of complete closure with the participation of some main sectors of government institutions, namely the health sector, the municipal sector, the tourism sector, the transport, the communications and information technology sector, the housing and relief sector, the agricultural, fisheries, water resources sector, and the commerce and industry sector.
The accident centre will receive comments related to the period of movement ban and complete closure.
Inquiries and clarifications of citizens and residents will be dealt with through the centre and provide facilities according to emergency cases facing some people during the period of complete closure. The centre will work 24 hours via the number (1099).
With the advent of Khareef season in the governorate of Dhofar, the Royal Oman Police reminded the visitors to the governorate the necessity of receiving the vaccine in order to avoid the trouble of travel. This in line with implementing the decision of the Supreme Committee to deal with COVID-19 to allow entry of citizens and residents who have received at least one dose of the vaccine approved in the Sultanate and those who received two doses for those coming from outside the Sultanate.
The Royal Oman Police calls on citizens and residents to continue to abide by the directives and decisions issued by the Supreme Committee, and to cooperate with the relevant authorities during the coming period in order to achieve public interest and to preserve the safety and health of all.
