Butter product unfit for consumption seized

Muscat: Food Safety and Quality Centre seized a butter product deemed harmful for consumption.

A statement issued online by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries Wealth and Water Resources (MAFWR) said: "The MInistry represented by the Food Safety and Quality Centre draws attention to consumers, in coordination with the competent authorities, that a manufactured butter product of unknown origin circulating among consumers has been seized, and the results of laboratory analyses have proven that it does not conform to standard specifications and is not suitable for human consumption."

"In the interest of this Ministry to secure the safety of products traded in the markets and to ensure the health of consumers, it calls for avoiding the consumption or circulation of the mentioned product as seen in the picture, and to report any products of unknown data (the explanatory data card)."
