Muscat: Aspiring to support local communities and strengthen collaboration with national entities, Oman Investment & Finance Co. (Khedmah), continued to deliver various initiatives during 2021 under its corporate social responsibility programme. The initiatives were directed toward different vital segments of society.
The company provided financial support to the Ministry of Social Development to purchase medical equipment and assistive devices for the severely disabled in-house residence of Al-Aman Rehabilitation Centre affiliated with the ministry. This initiative comes as part of OIFC’s continued approach since last year aimed at enhancing its collaboration with the Ministry and promote social initiatives.
Furthermore, Khedmah signed an agreement with Oman Charitable Organisation to allocate an annual contribution from the company as per the requirements set by the organisation. The objectives of this collaboration are to help several families affected by fires and support others in purchasing remote study supplies for their children. The company additionally provided support to many charitable teams to distribute food supplies to some regions during the pandemic.
Commenting on these gestures, Khalid bin Kahoor Al Balushi, Senior Director of Human Resources and Administration, and Chairman of the CSR Committee at OIFC said, “We at Khedmah pay great attention to national development through delivering community initiatives. Seeking to implement the directives of the company’s board of directors about CSR, we place social responsibility among our priorities by conducting a plethora of effective programmes that target various segments of society. This is in collaboration with government authorities, charitable and local community institutions.”
“Our CSR programme comes in line with national priorities and government objectives that strive to enhance the welfare of Omani citizens. Internally, the company’s board of directors approved a general policy on dedicating special spending annually to ensure the achievement of these priorities. We encourage all entities and institutions to contribute in delivering such initiatives as this is the responsibility of everyone without any exception,” he further stated.
