Muscat: Muscat Municipality will adopt an online system for people to be able to reserve their sacrifices for Eid Al Adha, starting from Wednesday, 14 July, to Sunday, 18 July, 2021.
A statement issued online by Muscat Municipality said that following the updates issued by the Supreme Committee in response to COVID-19, and to prevent congestion and large gatherings in municipal slaughterhouses, Muscat Municipality will adopt an online system for people to book their sacrifices.
Livestock will be slaughtered in butcher shops and companies in the evening period, in the absence of customers.
However, people who wish to purchase livestock in person can go directly to the slaughterhouse stockyards to make a reservation from 7am to 12pm or from 3pm to 4.30pm. They will receive the carcass the next morning, according to the timings mentioned below.
Local (Omani) goats and sheep can be reserved from Thursday, 15 July, to Sunday, 18 July, 2021, from 3pm to 4.30pm, while the carcasses can be received the next morning from the slaughterhouse refrigerators.
The pre-reserved sacrifices will be available for delivery from 7.30am to 12pm on Thursday, 15 July, till Monday, 19 July. The bookings will stay closed from Tuesday, 20 July, till Thursday, 22 July, 2021.
Operation in Seeb and Al Amerat slaughterhouses will resume on Friday morning, 23 July.
Seeb and Al Amerat slaughterhouses will resume functioning on 24 July morning. While companies will function from 6 to 8am, for individuals it will be open from 8am to 12.45pm.
