Muscat: The Ministry of Health, represented by the Directorate General of Health Services in Muscat Governorate will resume, today, the drive-through vaccination to immunise people against COVID-19, on the premises of the Oman Automobile Association, for people aged 45 and above, and for pregnant women, provided they have crossed the fourth month of pregnancy.
These vaccination services will be provided from 3 pm to 7 pm. Weekly updates on the drive-through vaccination services will also be provided.
The Ministry of Health, represented by the Directorate General of Health Services in Muscat Governorate, also continued to vaccinate people within the target groups at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Women who have completed three months of their pregnancy (13 or more weeks) are requested to get vaccinated at the nearest immunisation centre. They are to bring their health records with them.
“If you have received any other vaccine, please wait two weeks before taking the COVID-19 vaccine,” said the Ministry of Health in a statement.
“If you were previously infected with COVID-19, you must receive the vaccine within four weeks of the date of full recovery. “If you have some symptoms such as fever and headache, you should go to the nearest health centre,” added the ministry.
“If you have any known history of hypersensitivity to any vaccine, consult your doctor before taking the vaccine.”
The ministry’s Director General of Disease Control has made it clear that pregnant women are on the list of target groups for vaccination.
The shots being issued to them are safe. Furthermore, people with special needs, who are unable to travel to vaccination centres can be immunised at home.
This includes the clinically disabled and those whose health prevents them from going to get vaccinated.
“We call on caregivers to go to nearby health centres between 8 am and 1 pm on any day of the week to register. They will then be contacted with the date of the visit,” said the Directorate General of Health Services in Muscat.
