Oman weather: More rain for parts of Sultanate

Muscat: Several areas may get rainfall from Sunday to Thursday, according to Oman's Meteorology Department.
In its weather outlook, the Oman Meteorology Department said there are clear to partly cloudy skies over most of the Sultanate with chances of isolated rain over governorates of Musandam, North Al Batinah, Al Buraimi and parts of Al Hajar Mountains.
“There is, however, very little of chance of rainfall in Muscat,” an official at Oman Meteorology Department said.
The sea is expected to be moderate to rough during this time, he added.
Recently, several areas in Oman witnessed snowfall as temperatures drastically dipped following winter rains.
Oman’s northern Musandam region was hit by hail and snow for two consecutive days. Snow also covered Jebal Akhdar and Jebal Shams of Al Hajar Mountain range.
Jebal Shams is a mountain located in northeastern Oman north of Al Hamra town. It is the highest mountain in the country and part of Al Hajar Mountains range some 3,000 metres above sea level.
“It is still very cold in the mountains as the temperature is still hovering around 4 degrees on Sunday,” a resident of Jabal Shams said.
