Muscat: The MSX index closed at 3,981.02 points, up 0.35 per cent from previous close. The Sharia Index ended up 0.25 per cent at 568.48 points.
Global Investment Holding, up 8.33 per cent, was the top gainer while Al Suwadi Power, down 3.45 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of United Finance were the most active in terms of number of shares traded while Al Anwar Investment was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 1,185 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating turnover of OMR3 million, with more than 25 million shares changing hands. Out of 55 traded stocks, 21 advanced, 12 declined and 22 remained unchanged. At the session close, Domestic investors were net buyers for OMR254,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR176,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR78,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,273.67 points, up 0.51 per cent. Global Investment Holding, Al Batinah Development, United Finance, Muscat Finance and Taageer Finance were up 8.33 per cent, 7.14 per cent, 6.12 per cent, 5.45 per cent and 2.67 per cent respectively. Takaful Oman Oman & Emirates Holding, Vision Insurance and Oman United Insurance were down 1.96 per cent, 1.64 per cent, 1.37 per cent and 1.04 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 5,664.05 points, up 0.78 per cent. Gulf International Chemical, Jazeera Steel Product, Oman Cables Industry, Al Anwar Ceramic and Al Maha Ceramic were up 8.04 per cent, 2.09 per cent, 2.07 per cent, 1.74 per cent, 0.58 per cent respectively. National Aluminum Product, Oman Cement and Raysut Cement were down 1.46 per cent, 0.80 per cent and 0.34 per cent respectively.
Services Index was up by 0.06 per cent closing at 1,684.41 points. Muscat City Desalination, Al Jazeera Services, Al Maha Marketing and Oman Telecommunication were up 2.27 per cent, 1.90 per cent, 1.88 per cent and 0.51 per cent respectively. Al Suwadi Power, Musandam Power, Al Batinah Power and National Gas were down 3.45 per cent, 2.48 per cent, 1.79 per cent and 0.65 per cent respectively.
