Oman Football: OFA, English FA to further develop relations

Muscat: The Oman Football Association (OFA) and English FA officials discussed the ways to further develop the relations between the two football bodies during a meeting at the OFA Headquarters on Monday.
According to information provided by the OFA, the meeting took place when English FA Chairman Greg Clarke visited the OFA Headquarters.
The meeting was attended by OFA Chairman Sheikh Salim Al Wahaibi, First Vice-Chairman Mohsin Al Masroori, Second Vice-Chairman Dr. Jassim Al Shukeili and General Secretary, CEO and Board Member Dr. Ahmed Haboush Al Farsi.
The main topic of disccussion during the meeting was the developing the relations between the two footballing bodies.
While discussing in detail the relations between the two entities and how to take them forward, the officials from both side also talked about how the FA can contribute in the development of sport in Oman.
They also discussed about the possible collaborations between the two countries, with opportunities for the football fraternity from Oman to boost learning and knowledge development in England being a key topic.
Key decisions
Meanwhile, the OFA board members took a number of key decisions during a recent meeting.
The meeting was chaired by OFA chief Sheikh Al Wahaibi and attended by all the board members.
Among the most important decisions was finalising the naming of OFA Sheikh Salim Al Wahaibi as the head of the Financial Committee.
Jassim Al Shukeili, Second Vice-Chairman of the OFA, will continue to preside over the National Teams Committee.
The members also approved the participation of both the men’s and women’s national teams in the Gulf Cup tournaments later this.
The approval for women team’s participation in the Gulf Cup is a historic decision as it will be for the first time the Omani women’s national team will be taking part in an official and regional level tournament.
The board also approved the football development plan for Musandam region drafted by the Development Committee.
