Oman weather: Schools closing, traffic signals knocked out

Muscat: Afternoon shifts of Indian School Muscat, Indian School Wadi Kabir and Indian School Darsait were cancelled today because of the bad weather, Wilson V George, chairman, Board of Directors for Indian Schools in Oman, said.
Philippines School and some other schools in the Muscat area have also asked parents to collect their children.
Traffic signals on Airport road, 18th November St, Al Khuwair and at the Oman Club have been knocked out of action by heavy rain.
A Royal Oman Police official confirmed at least four sets of signals are out of order and they are working to repair them. More heavy rain is predicted for this afternoon, the Meteorology Dept has warned.
