#OmanPride: Playing with fire is their daily job

Muscat: They say don’t play with fire, but for these eight people, it is all only a form of entertainment.
Eight Russian entertainers performed a mesmerising fire dance, leaving visitors at the Amerat Park venue of the Muscat Festival 2017 bedazzled.

The group, which virtually played with fire, presented three shows during the course of a day – from 6:30pm to 7pm, 8:30pm to 9pm and finally from 10pm to 10:30pm. Every performance narrated a different story, and involved dancing, twisting and twirling of the flames.
The first act was a magical story about a butterfly and a dinosaur. The dinosaur wanted to escape the harsh reality of its life, so the butterfly, helped it build wings. Eventually, the dinosaur flew to find new hopes in this life.
The Russians also told a story about fire and love and how these were two completely different feelings. They portrayed that love always trumps fire and can reach the skies, while fire is a symbol of destruction.
The whoosh sounds added extra effects to the story, leaving children and adults equally stunned and amazed with the performance.
More shows on the open floor are planned during the upcoming weeks of the festival. Besides, visitors will also be treated to a daily dose of other entertainment.
Paintball competitions, five-a-side football tournaments, Omani traditional music are all on the list for Muscat Festival 2017 entertainment. Consumer exhibitions as well as private and public sector stalls are set up to provide and promote their services to the audience and potential business partners.
Omani handicrafts can be seen on the floor being made by Omani men and women experts which are also up for sale.
