New movement ban timings come into force in Oman

Muscat: Starting today, the movement ban will begin from 7 pm to 4 am. Restaurants are allowed to deliver the orders, and most commercial activities are not allowed to open their doors for customers. 

The Supreme Committee has decided to extend the lockdown hours between 7pm and 4am from Saturday, May 8 until May 15. The movement ban was from 9 pm to 5 am previously.

All commercial activities will be prohibited to practice their activities throughout the day, with the exception of a list of activities announced such as: 

 1-Central markets for the sale of vegetables, fruits, and fish with a capacity of 50 percent

2- Central slaughterhouses with a capacity of 50 percent

 3-Gas stations, including tire and vehicle repair inside the stations, and express shopping stores, with a maximum of 3 customers at one time

 4-Fishing boats repair workshops and selling fishing accessories

 5-Health institutions, including veterinary centers, pharmacies and eyeglass stores

 6-Food stores

7- The following economic activities operate administratively inside the business premises/facility without receiving clients and closing the halls designated to receive customers, namely: "Construction and contracting companies, Transportation and storage companies

8- Insurance companies, Consulting companies of all kinds, Law firms, Auditing and accounting offices, Translation offices, Sanad centers, Shipping and customs clearance offices and Postal companies.

9- Home Delivery Service. 

The government communication noted: "All activities that are not mentioned in the list of the excluded activities, the owner of the store are allowed to practice work inside the facility or the shop with the ban on entry of customers and suffice with handling and delivery."
