Muscat: The Ministry of Labour, in cooperation with Huawei and in partnership with the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) and Omantel, has launched a training program for graduates of information technology and communications engineering courses.
A statement issued online said: “The training program includes the first batch of 35 trainees and has been launched with the aim of providing training opportunities for students to enable them to meet the requirements of the market and to provide them with the necessary experience.”
“It is worth noting that this training program aims to enhance the capabilities and skills of graduates of information technology and communication engineering as part of the agreement signed by the Ministry of Labour and Huawei at the end of last year, to train and qualify 300 graduates of information technology and communications engineering during a period of 3 years,” added the statement.
Additionally, the Ministry also signed a memorandum of understanding with Internships platform to support training efforts by contributing to the search and display of training opportunities on the platform.
A statement said: ”The Ministry of Labour signed a memorandum of understanding with Internships platform to support training efforts by contributing to the search for and displaying of training opportunities sites on the platform, for job seekers, students and employees wishing to get training in various public and private sectors.”
“The Internships platform is an interactive national network linking higher education institutions, academic students, graduates, job seekers, as well as those with skills to facilitate the effort of searching for various training opportunities with the units of government institutions and private institutions,” added the statement.
