Oman weather: Rain falls in Quriyat, PACDA warns public

Muscat: Rain fell in Quriyat and surrounding areas, a weather enthusiast said.
“It started at around 1pm. Still it is continuing,” Bader Ali Al Baddaei, an administrator of www.rthmc.net, a local Web-based forum that discusses weather in Oman, said.
Earlier in the day, Oman meteorology department issued an advisory saying that three days of rain are expected in the coastal areas of Northern Oman starting from tomorrow.
The met department said that a low depression is approaching the coastal areas.
Muscat, Musandam, North and South Al Batinah and South Al Sharqiyah Governorates including Al Hajar Mountains will be affected by isolated rains with a possibility of thunderstorms and showers starting from Thursday.
Wave height near the coast of Musandam Governorate and in the Oman Sea will reach up to two and a half meters, the met department announced.
Meanwhile, Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA) has warned public to be cautious during rain.
