Muscat: ahlibank continues to encourage its customers to save more by providing them greater chances to win valuable cash prizes throughout the year.
As part of 2021’s first quarterly Wafra prize scheme draws, the bank announced the lucky winners, who won from the total prize money of OMR 300,000.
Among these winners, one lucky customer from the Sohar branch bagged the grand ‘Salary for Life’ prize of OMR 250,000, which will be paid as OMR 1,000 monthly for 250 months. The draws were streamed live on the bank's official social media pages.
Commenting on the initiative, Muneer Al Balushi – AGM- Head of Retail Distribution, ahlibank said, “At ahlibank, we are working towards encouraging a savings culture among the people of Oman. With more and more younger Omanis joining the workforce, it is important that they understand the significance of financial prudence and use their income judiciously. Saving becomes an important aspect of their financial journey. The 2021 Wafra prize scheme is a part of this endeavour as it provides an opportunity for customers to win a salary for a lifetime thereby giving them financial security. The qualifying criterion for these draws fuel the motivation to save.”
Wafra’s ‘Salary for Life’ includes a total mega prize of 1 million Omani rials – of which an amount of OMR 250,000 is won every quarter, by four lucky customers, during the year. Customers who maintain a quarterly average balance of OMR 1,000 are eligible to participate in the ‘Salary for Life’ quarterly prize draw.
In addition to the grand quarterly draws, the bank has also allocated special quarterly draws to five lucky winners to be rewarded with a cash prize of OMR 25,000, equivalent (OMR 5,000 each)who maintains an average quarterly balance of at least OMR 5,000 in the account, the prize of OMR 25,000 for one premium and the exclusive winner who maintains an average quarterly balance of at least OMR 35,000 in the account, and another prize of OMR 10,000 for one upper mass (Imtiyaz) winner who maintains an average quarterly balance of at least OMR 10,000 in the account.

In line with its objective of enhancing lives, ‘Wafra’ -which means ‘abundance’ in Arabic- Prize Scheme 2021, will award total prizes worth over OMR 2 million to more than 1600 customers across ahlibank’s branches in the Sultanate. These are given away across weekly and monthly prizes for the bank’s branches, salary transfer prizes, children prizes and youth prizes under ‘MyChoice’, retiree segment ‘Istqrar’ prizes, special prizes for premium, exclusive and Imtiyaz customers and the special event draws such as the 51st National Day and the opening of new branches.
The second quarterly prize is scheduled to take place at end of June and details of the draw will be announced on the bank’s social media platforms.
