VAT at zero per cent for these food commodities in Oman

Muscat: The Tax Authority has issued a decision regarding the determination of food commodities subject to value-added tax at a rate of zero per cent.

The list includes the following commodities:

1-  Fresh or chilled vegetables (such as tomatoes, onions, potatoes, green leafy vegetables, carrots, cucumbers and eggplant)
2- Legumes
3- Fruits
4- Spices
5- Vegetable oils
6- Fresh or chilled fish
7. Eggs
8- Chilled or fresh poultry
9 - Fresh or chilled meat
10- Dairy and cheese
11- Grains
12- Flour
13- Tea and coffee
14- Salt and sugar
15- Juices with no added sugar or other sweetening materials

Article 2 states that Resolution No. 2/2021 referred to shall be repealed and all decisions that contradict this decision or its provisions shall be rolled back.
