Body recovered in Oman fishing trip tragedy

Muscat: The body of a citizen has been recovered by police, six days after a fishing trip off the coast of Oman turned to tragedy.
After six days of searching, Yasir Al Rawahi’s body was found on the shoreline in wilayat of Mahout, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) confirmed.
On Friday, March 8, Al Rawahi and five of his cousins went on a fishing trip at sea around wilayat of Mahout.
The boat sank and the men ended up fighting for their lives at sea. Locals managed to save two of the men and the bodies of two more were recovered shortly after the alarm was raised.
The police announced that the body of one of the two men lost at sea was recovered on Wednesday afternoon.
In a statement online, ROP said, “The body of one of the missing persons was found at 5pm on Bar Al-Hakman beach in the Wilayat of Mahout.
“The police plane will transfer the body to Ibra Hospital in order for his body to be handed over to his family,” added the police. Searches are still being conducted to recover the body of the sixth man, Sulaiman Al Masruri.
