Oman accident: Nakhal road accident victim under observation

Muscat: Maimoonath Ameer, who lost her husband and mother in a road accident on Tuesday near Nakhal, has still not been told about the deaths.
“She is still in shock. She is in the observation unit, so we have not yet told her about the deaths,” a friend of the victims’ family told the Times of Oman.
Maimoonath’s husband Ameer PC and her mother Kavumpuram Jameela died near Nakhal after their car collided with another vehicle.
Her three children, eight-year-old Dilha Saabi, five-year-old Fatima Jifna, and two-year-old Fatima Sana, were also injured in the accident and admitted to Al Khoud Sultan Qaboos University hospital.
“Fatima Sana had to undergo a minor surgery. The other two have only minor injuries. All are out of danger,” the family friend said. The family was on its way back to Nakhal, where Ameer ran a supermarket.
Ameer, a resident of Oman for the last 10 years, had opened his hypermarket only three months ago.
Meanwhile, Shameer PTK, who is co-ordinating the efforts to repatriate the bodies of victims to India, said that it would happen only on Monday.
“As the next few days are holidays here in Oman, we will not be able to process the papers required to send back the bodies,” Shameer added.
