Muscat: In a bid to promote the Sultanate, the Ministry of Tourism hosted several media outlets for a tour around the country.
As part of the Discover Oman’s Beauty campaign, the Ministry of Tourism organized several promotional activities where publications, media houses and social media celebrities were taken on a tour of Oman with the aim of garnering media support in promoting the country via articles, videos and television.
“The ministry invited several leading GCC publications from the UAE and Qatar and took them around different places and attractions in Muscat, Nizwa and Jabal el Akhdar,” said the MoT.
“The journalists visited iconic [landmarks] like Sultan Qaboos Mosque, The Royal Opera House Muscat, The National Museum, Bait Al Zubair Museum, Muttrah Souq, along with the tour of the Amouage factory in Muscat,” they added.
Media personnel also visited the rose water factory and the Nizwa fort.
“These experiences gave journalists an insight into the unique blend of tradition and modernity that the Sultanate has to offer,” said MoT.
A crew from Al Arabiya TV, part of the MBC group, recorded a documentary on the history of Oman where locations such Al Baleed Archeological Site, Mirbat, Old Salalah and Omani food are featured.
In similar news, MBC 3, MBC’s children’s channel, recorded the 10th season of “Eish Safari” in Salalah during the Khareef season, which helped in promoting the Sultanate where it focused on the various activities that children can take part of in nature.
