Dish TV viewers in Oman unable to see many channels

Muscat: Some India-based Dish TV subscribers in Oman have claimed that many channels have gone missing from their subscription packs.
This comes after a large number of residents were not able to recharge their India-based Direct-to-Home (DTH) services, such as Dish TV online since the first week of September.
“Some Indian pay channels were missing, even though I paid for those channels when I recharged six months back,” said Joseph, an Indian expat living in Muscat.
Citing similar examples, residents said they are facing problems in viewing movie by demand, infotainment and some regional channels of India. “Sometimes it is coming, but sometimes not. The service is not regular,” they complained.
DTH’s overspill services do not have the requisite license to operate in the Middle East, claimed the authorised dealers for television viewing services in Oman. “There is no guarantee these days that you will able to see all the channels even if you subscribe,” an electronic dealer confirmed on Monday.
An authorised dealer for television viewing services said he is losing a lot of money due to this illegal business. “We urge illegal content viewers to subscribe to a legal pay-TV service,” he said.
