French minister hails wise policy of Oman

Muscat: His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers received yesterday Jean Yves Le Drian, Defence Minister of the French Republic, who is currently on an official visit to the Sultanate.
After welcoming the French minister and his accompanying delegation, Sayyid Fahd reviewed the relations between the two countries and the positive growth being witnessed by these relations at all levels, stemming from the mutual keenness on enhancing them in a number of fields.
The French minister hailed the wise policy pursued by the Sultanate under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said. He expressed France’s satisfaction on the Sultanate’s approach in dealing with the regional and international issues and the existing cooperation with his country in various spheres.
Conversation during the meeting dealt with future cooperation between the Sultanate and France, in addition to reviewing the current situations at the regional and international arenas and matters of common concern.
The French defence minister expressed his pride and that of his accompanying delegation over this visit, which enabled them to closely view the comprehensive development being witnessed by the Sultanate.
He stressed the importance of the talks he conducted with the officials in the Sultanate, which come within the framework of strengthening ties of fruitful cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib Al Busaidi, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs and Roland Dubertrand, Ambassador of the French Republic to the Sultanate.
Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu’mani, Minister of Royal Office received in his office French Minister of Defence.
Gen. Al Nu’mani welcomed the guest who expressed his delight visiting the Sultanate.
Oman and France reviewed bilateral relations and military cooperation between the two countries.
Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib Al Busaidi met the French minister at Mu’askar Bait Al Falaj.
Sayyid Badr welcomed the guest and his accompanying delegation, wishing them a successful visit. A session of talks was held between the two sides.
An official welcoming ceremony was accorded for the French Defence Minister at Mu’askar Bait Al Falaj.
The meeting was also attended by Mohammed bin Nasser Al Rasbi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence and Maj.Gen Mattar bin Salim Al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO) and the French envoy to Oman.
