French defence minister visits Oman tourist sites

Muscat: French Defence Minister Jean Yves Le Drian and his delegation accompanied by ambassador of France to the Sultanate toured, yesterday, Nizwa Fort, its old traditional souqs, the Niyabat of Jabel Al Akhdar and Al Hoota Cave as part of the Minister’s visit to the Sultanate.
The minister and his accompanying delegation toured the various sections of Nizwa Fort and watched its traditional facilities and souqs.
They were also briefed on the historic stages, archaeology and construction works of the fort witnessed during the blessed era of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos
bin Said.
The guest and his accompanying delegation also visited Al Hoota Cave and acquainted themselves with the archaeological diversification and the features of the cave .
It is worth mentioning that the French Defence Minister Jean Yves Le Drian arrived in the Sultanate, last Saturday, on an official visit to the Sultanate during which he will meet a number of country’s senior officials and would hold official talks with Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib Al Busaidi, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs.
