Oman weather: Storms predicted in many parts of Sultanate

Muscat: Storms are predicted in Oman from Wednesday, say global meteorologists.
“Spotty storms in Oman through Wednesday, mainly mountains; little rain in Muscat. More widespread rain South West Arabian Peninsula,” Jason Nicholls, a senior meteorologist at AccuWeather tweeted.
According to Oman’s meteorological department, skies over coastal areas of Dhofar governorate and adjoining mountains will be cloudy on Monday and Tuesday with chances of intermittent drizzle.
“Chances of medium and high cloud advection over northern governorates and chance of convective clouds development will result in isolated rain occasionally thundershowers over Al-Hajar Mountains and adjacent willayats,” the forecast added.
Heavy rain fell in different parts of Oman last week.
Normal life was affected in wilayat of Dama Wal Taeein, North Sharqiyah Governorate and Al Buraimi during the last week rains.
