Sayyid Kamil opens athletics track at The Sultan’s School

Muscat: The Sultan’s School, under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Kamil bin Fahad Al Said held the official opening ceremony for its new 400m athletics track on Sunday.
Students, staff and the PTA cheered in support, as Al Said cut the ribbon to open The Sultan’s School athletic track.
Construction of the international standard track began last year and is a fantastic addition to the school’s already broad range of facilities. Lee Mullis, the school’s Athletics and Activities Coordinator, stated that the track will further help promote sports and wellbeing across the entire school community and will contribute to Oman’s presence in international athletics in the coming years.
In addition to the 400m track, adjacent areas have been designated for long jump, high jump, javelin, discus and shot put.
Sports already has a high profile at The Sultan’s School and the inauguration of the new track is intended to mark a new phase of growth and development for budding athletes at the school; providing opportunities for students across the 4-18 age range to gain new skills and develop their sporting techniques.
