Oman football coach Lopez Caro reveals extensive programme

Muscat: Oman national team coach Juan Ramon Lopez Caro has chalked out a comprehensive training programme for the national team with an eye on the future.
Revealing his plans to the media at the Oman Football Association headquarters on Saturday, Lopez Caro named the a list of 31 players for the forthcoming internal and external camps and also revealed the friendly matches during the extended training session.
Lopez Caro is preparing the team for the forthcoming Asian Cup qualifiers and next year's Gulf Cup.
The former Real Madrid coach was more realistic in his views and expressed the importance of investing in the future.
The highlight of Lopez Caro's revelations on Saturday was the return of Mohammed She'eba, who was not part of the earlier camps.
According to the coach, the first camp begins from Saturday and will continue till July 26 and the second camp will be held between July 31 to August 9.
"We are facing a new phase of preparation and we are embarking on a major journey," said Lopez Caro, while interacting with the media personnel.
"Our aim is to create a strong team for the future and we need to put in lot of effort," he added. "Focus will be on the technical and tactical side as well."
On Mohammed She'eba's return, Lopez Caro said that the player was still not fully fit. "Though he is under treatment still, we would like to have him in the camp so that he can mentally prepare himself and recover quickly," he said. The coach added that She'eba is better now and 'we will monitor his recovery.'
The coach also named Khalil Nassib among the probables, who is playing for Ahli Club in UAE.
"I am satisfied with the current list," said Lopez Caro and at the same time reacted to a query on Imad Al Hosni's omission.
"Imad did not figure in my plans, but the door is still open for the top striker," he said. "I have a criteria in my mind and there will be no compromises."
Mohammed Faraj and Salah Al Yahyai are also not among the list of probables and the coach clarified that the duo are not out of his plans.

Friendlies
Meanwhile, Lopez Caro also announced the upcoming friendlies for the national team, which will be part of the training camps.
Oman will be playing their first friendly against Turkmenistan on August 8 in Muscat.
Oman will travel to London for a camp between August 17 and September 6, where they will play Ireland on August 31.
After the first three camps, the team will come together in October (3 to 11) and will play two friendly games.
Oman will play Jordan on October 7 and Bahrain on October 11, both the matches in Muscat.
The final camp will begin on November 7 till November 15 during which they will play Japan on November 11.
"We are also planning one more match on November 15, but the opponent team is yet to be finalised," he said.
