Jusoor signs CSR partnership pact

Muscat: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Jusoor and GS E&C the (EPC3) contractor of Orpic’s Liwa Plastic Industries Complex Project was signed.
Sheikh Mohanna bin Saif Al Lamki, Jusoor Chairman signed the MoU with Seo, Sang Su, Project Director (LPIC EPC-3). Under this agreement, Jusoor shall plan and implement the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) agenda.
This partnership with GS E&C is a result of the company's deep commitment to social responsibility. It is a part of its strategy and an obvious commitment towards community in enhancing the added value in the community to ensure better implementation of sustainable social projects contributing to the socioeconomic development of the Sultanate.
"This agreement represents a profound commitment between Jusoor and GS E&C in achieving the sustainable socioeconomic development goals in the local community. It also reflects a great deal of awareness from those parties towards enhancing the noble social responsibility objectives," Al Lamki said.
"This partnership is a major success in gaining the trust of the community and consolidating the company’s reputation as an effective participator in the social development which represents an important partnership milestone between the public and private sectors," he added.
"Thanks, and appreciations to Jusoor — the pioneer CSR foundation in Oman and we are keen to support such constructive initiatives that strengthen development and assure full interpretation of the thoughtful vision of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said on the necessity for cooperation amongst all social and economic sectors to the development of our country Oman,” Al Lamki said.
"It is great honor to have the opportunity for the contribution on Oman through the MOU with Jusoor. With the concrete foundation of best collaboration between Oman and South Korea, GS E&C has made the successful completion on every project, whichever GS E&C performed in Oman such as polypropylene, aromatics, methanol, natural gas and power plant," Seo, Sang Su said.
"I think that this kind of successful completion of the mega projects lead to develop Oman industries and wish to have more opportunities. Although it is not often to participate in donation program and to donate the money directly for the planning of contribution program, GS E&C would like to keep having more chances to contribute in Oman not only the successful execution of mega project but also through social programme in the future," he added.
"This partnership is part of the company's role in the implementation of the principles and objectives of social responsibility. It is represented in the continuous commitment to participate in supporting local community in several social projects. Obviously, this commitment is observed at the contracted companies such as GS E&C –EPC3 of Liwa Plastic Industries Complex Project with Orpic, which culminated its efforts towards CSR in signing MoU with Jusoor – Opric’s CSR investment arm," Dr Hilal Bin Abdullah Al Hinai, General Manager, Corporate Support Services at Orpic, said.
"This understanding represents a new journey to Jusoor in developing its scope of work covering more private companies which provide various services in corporate social responsibility,” he added.
