Sohar International sponsors MERA team for football tournament

Muscat: Driven to incite a spirit of winning within the community and play an active role in Oman’s social and economic development scene, Sohar International served as sponsors for the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs (MERA) Team at the Eight-Man Football Championship.
Organised by the Sultan Qaboos University from February 4 till 20, the Championship in its seventh season, attracted 22 participating teams from various public and private sector entities in a competition to win the tournament trophy title.
Enduring relationships
Khalil Al Hedaifi, Chief Retail Banking Officer, highlighted how Sohar International places a great emphasis on building strong and enduring relationships within the community in which it operates.
Al Hedaifi said, “Our sponsorship of the MERA team in this championship goes in line with our efforts to build partnerships towards fostering a spirit of competitiveness and winning in the society. We are confident that our support to varied sporting and cultural activities will inspire increased contributions in this regard. We commend the MERA Team on their outstanding performance in the tournament, and wish them all the best in the next round of competitions.”
Sohar International’s sponsorship to the MERA team complements many other efforts working in parallel as part of its new strategy to promote winning as culture not only in its business activities but also in its engagement with various stakeholders.
