Remittances to Pakistan reach $12.77 Bn within last seven months

Muscat: Remittances from non-resident Pakistanis has reached $12.77 billion from July 2018 to January 2019, Pakistan’s Finance Minister Asad Umar has announced.
In a statement online, Asad Umar said, “Remittances from overseas Pakistanis [are] up [by] $1.4 billion [between] July to January vs the same period last year. Total [amount of] remittances received between July to January is $12.77 billion, 12.2 per cent higher than last year.
Additionally, Umar stated that the trade deficit in services from July to December 2018 was down $800 million compared to the same period the year before.
