​Expired foodstuffs seized from shopping centres in Oman

Muscat: More than 300 expired foodstuff items were seized in shops in Wilayat of Al Rustaq, the Public Authority of Consumer Protection (PACP) said.

The authority said in statement online: "The Department of Consumer Protection in Rustaq was able to control the sale of 314 items of expired foodstuffs in Rustaq, Awabi, and Al Mussanah area, as part of the regular follow-up inspection campaign by the Authority of the markets and commercial centres in the wilayat.

“Accordingly, the seized goods have been withdrawn and the procedures followed in this respect have been withdrawn.”

The Public Authority for Consumer Protection calls upon the consumer to verify the goods data, and validity before purchase, and to report such violations.
