Tennis: Nitishsai wins U-10 ISC Open title

Muscat: Nitishsai Harinath won his first career title when he claimed the under-10 singles crown at the ISC-Muscat Pharmacy Open Junior Tennis Tournament.
In an exciting final, Nitishsai defeated Ahmed Al Hinai 8-6. Nitishsai started on a positive note and at one stage held a comfortable 5-0 lead before Ahmed opened his score and broke Nitishsai twice to reduce the deficit to 5-4.
Nitishsai held his composure and broke Ahmed in the tenth game. Ahmed showed no signs of nerves, broke back and kept his hopes alive. Nitishsai made no mistakes and broke Ahmed in the fourteenth game to win the under-10 title.
Top seed Kaavya Jayakumar will take on second seed Stuti Mathur in the final of the girls under-14 singles. In the semi final, Kaavya defeated Aayra Malhotra 8-2 while Stuti Mathur scored an emphatic 8-0 win over Nafisa Al-Busaidi.
