Video: His Majesty presides over Council of Ministers meeting

Sohar: His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said presided over the meeting of the Council of Ministers at Bait Bahjat Al Andhar yesterday.

At the outset of the meeting, His Majesty the Sultan expressed his thanks, praise and gratitude to the Almighty Allah, for the progress and prosperity Oman enjoys, praying to the Almighty Allah to make this year, a year of benevolences and blessings on the Sultanate and its people.

His Majesty the Sultan, then, reviewed the developments at local, regional and international levels.

His Majesty the Sultan expressed his comfort over the efforts extended by the government and all departments of the state in terms of comprehensive development march amid continued positive growth rates and the provision of basic social services to citizens in all parts of the country coupled with diversification of sources of income and increased contributions of non-oil revenues in the total public revenues.

His Majesty the Sultan stressed the significance of the development plans prepared by the government and the role they play in the creation of investment and enhancement of cooperation of the private sector with the government in all sectors of national work.

His Majesty the Sultan also pointed to the establishment of the National Centre for Employment and the role it plays in provision of job opportunities for citizens in the various fields in partnership with the government sector and the private sector.

His Majesty the Sultan also emphasised the significance of further activation and enhancement of the administrative apparatus of the state to cope with the future requirements of sustainable development.

His Majesty the Sultan reaffirmed the Sultanate’s continued keenness for cooperation with all the efforts extended for enhancement of dialogue and understanding among all the countries to maintain security and stability of all nations.

His Majesty the Sultan also tackled a number of issues of concern to citizens and gave His Orders to institutions of the state to continue with the efforts for achievement of the targeted goals wishing all success and for the interest of Oman and its people.
