Expats sentenced to 10 years in jail for human trafficking in Oman

Muscat: A number of expats have been jailed and fined on charges of human trafficking, the Public Prosecution has announced.
Officials said the accused exploited and beat another expat woman and forced her into prostitution. In an online statement, the department said, "The Criminal Court of Salalah sentenced a number of expats to ten years in jail and fined them OMR5,000 each over human trafficking for another expat woman."
The Public Prosecution added, "The accused beat and forced her into prostitution exploiting her weakness, to make money."
