Muscat: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has welcomed home Wing Commander Vardhaman Abhinandan after he was returned to India after being capture by Pakistani troops.

Abhinandan was arrested by Pakistani soldiers after his aircraft crash landed in Pakistan Administered Kashmir while reportedly countering an alleged air raid by Pakistani Air Force jets on Indian installations.

Abhinandan was reportedly returned home to India at the Wagah border crossing, after Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan had confirmed his release as a gesture of peace between the two nations
