Opportunity for expatriates to showcase their singing skills

Muscat: Migrant workers can now showcase their singing talents on “Dil Ki Awaaz Season 2”, a platform announced by international money transfer organisation Xpress Money.
“Dil Ki Awaaz Season 2”, this year, promises to be bigger, as over 100,000 migrant workers from across 74 labour camps in the country will get a chance to participate in the competition and flaunt their singing skills.
“Dil Ki Awaaz Season 2” will culminate with a grand finale on March 22, 2019, at the Amphitheatre, Qurum, in the presence of esteemed celebrities Bappi Lahiri and Shibani Kashyap who will judge the finale and choose the top three winners. The winner will receive OMR1,000, while the first runner up and second runner up will receive OMR750 and OMR500, respectively.
After a rigorous audition process, the top 20 finalists will be selected in the first week of March. These finalists will then be trained by a celebrated panel of judges, who will further nurture their singing skills and prepare them to sing at the grand finale in the presence of a live audience. “Dil Ki Awaaz”, which translates to “Voice from the heart”, is a life-changing opportunity for thousands of migrant workers who may have dreams of becoming singing superstars but had to suppress them owing to their financial situations.
Speaking about the contest, Ashwin Gedam, Vice President of Global Marketing, Xpress Money, said, “We were overwhelmed with the response that we received for Dil Ki Awaaz (DKA) Season 1. What was launched as an opportunity for migrant workers to showcase their signing talent has now become life-transforming for many.”
“With each season of DKA, if we succeed in changing the lives of a few people for the better, it is a huge feat for us. Community outreach is a very important part of Xpress Money’s core values, and DKA is an extension of those values.”
Xpress Money is a preferred money transfer service for migrant workers across Oman. The company organises various activities, events and initiatives for labour camps across Oman and the GCC. Dil Ki Awaaz is an event that is targeted specifically at South Asian communities at labour camps in Oman.
