Sayyid Fahd to preside over National Museum of Oman opening

Muscat: His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers will preside over the opening of the National Museum on Monday.

The opening of the museum coincides with the 45th National Day celebrations. The National Museum was established as a vital project concerned with the preservation of the elements of Omani heritage.

The total area of the museum is 13,700 square metre including 4, 000 square metre allocated for the 15 display halls such as the land and man hall, the maritime history hall, the aflaj hall, coins & currency hall, pre-history and ancient times hall, Oman and the world hall and Renaissance hall among several halls. It is worth mentioning that the National Museum was established by Royal Decree No. 62/2013 , issued on November 20, 2013.
